Leanne Woodbury, who has resided in the area for the last 30 years, is the new proprietor of Wisemans Ferry Grocer & Café store, and along with the support of her husband and family, believes they can offer the locals and tourists, a fresh new experience.
Leanne’s goal is to provide a warm and friendly place for locals and tourists alike to pop in for a hot cuppa, chat and an overall, ‘value for money’ local shopping experience. Leanne has from the start, been extremely conscious of the need for “fresh” produce in town, along with providing a variety of products for her shoppers to choose from. Understandably, being a smaller supermarket than the big chains, there is a limit to what she can fit on the shelves, however feels confident that many of her shopper’s tastes and needs are accounted for. Suggestions are well received and always encouraged.
Our opening hours were originally 6.00am to 6.00pm, however the need for longer hours was quickly recognized with locals knocking on the door well before the morning opening and long after the doors closed at night. We are now trading from 5.30am to 7.00pm (cafe closes at 5pm) in the warmer months and back to the 6.00pm close time over winter (cafe closes at 4pm).
Aware that there is a love for “local” produce, Leanne encourages local residents who grow or produce local products to contact her if they are interested in selling their goods within the Store. To date we have had locally grown peaches, lemons, mandarins and pecans available, however I’m sure there are more varieties in the immediate and surrounding communities.
Leanne and her team are extremely excited about the overall direction that the Grocery Store and Café are travelling. They’d like to also thank the locals and tourists alike, for their support, words of encouragement and patronage.
